Online therapy for expats

Have you just moved to a city and are questioning whether you’ve done the right thing?

Or maybe you’ve been here a while now and are still struggling to feel totally settled?

I see you, and I’ve been there.

Moving abroad is one of the most exciting things I ever did, but also one of the hardest.

It brings up so many emotions which are so often just brushed under the carpet.

Expat life is hard. Therapy for expats can help.

Common expat mental health challenges

You moved for a new adventure – maybe a relocation for work, a journey of love or just a fresh start. But, it’s harder than you expected.

Moving abroad can be extremely confronting, forcing you to deal with emotions that you never expected.

The expat experience is unique for everyone but here are just some of the emotional challenges that I’ve come across in my work with expats.

Guilt

You're torn between creating a new life and the family and friends you've left behind.

Self-Doubt

Your path looks different from those around you, making you doubt your choices.

Finding Your People

You're constantly socialising but are struggling to find people you really gel with.

Romantic Relationships

From cultural clashes to feelings of imbalance in the relationship.

Identity

Struggling to know who you are when you're away from everything you knew.

Escapism

You find you're in constant motion but don't know what you're avoiding.

What to expect in therapy for expat sessions

I offer therapy online in English wherever you are in the world. As an expat myself, with mostly expat friends, I understand the unique challenges that come with moving abroad.

In our sessions, we will discuss your struggles with warmth and patience, giving you the time and space to talk about what’s going on.

Maybe you have a specific issue you want to talk about or maybe you’re just feeling “off” and need a listening ear.

I’m there to guide you through it. In our remote therapy for expats sessions, we’ll get to the root of your issue and kit you out with tools and strategies to keep you afloat.
